Colour fastness

How well a dyed fabric resists fading and bleeding.

Colour fastness is measured against washing, rubbing, light and perspiration, and rated on a grey scale. It is usually quoted as a number, for example 4–5 for washing.

Dark shades and bright reds are the hardest. If your product will be washed often or exposed to sun, put the fastness requirement in the purchase order.
